Pockets for your Scrapbook Layout - Adding tags and text
How many of you prefer jeans without pockets? I bet hardly anyone would prefer jeans
without pockets to jeans with pockets. Pockets are such a luxury to have around
although we may not realize its value all the time. The story is not too different
when it comes to scrapbooks either.
Dealing with interruptions while Scrapbooking
There may be days when you start off embellishing your scrapbook but end up interrupted
halfway through. So rather than putting away all your pieces of paper and equipment
everywhere, isn’t it a great idea to come up with a huge pocket to put away your
emergency stuff aside? You may think that it may ruin the look and feel of your
scrapbook if a huge pocket is placed somewhere just to carry your emergency stuff.
But as a matter of fact, you can create the pocket to have a funky outlook in such
way that no one would even notice that the pocket carries all your cutouts and little
embellishments.
In order to come up with a funky look, you can always add in a nature oriented look
by adding dried leaves or flowers on the pocket that you create using board that’s
pasted on three sides. If you want to come up with a rugged look for your pocket
to show that it carries random things, you can always use rug material and maybe
use a glitter stick to add in a little design to embellish it. If your scrapbook
album runs on a mechanical theme, maybe you can create your pocket to have an outlook
of a garage or work station. Simply, what you need to do is let your imagination
take over to create the perfect pocket that suits the theme of your scrapbook album.
Using Pockets in your Album for Temporary Things
Many of you might not be fascinated about the idea of a pocket to carry random stuff
because you may already have another solution (such as a cardboard box) to put away
things. But don’t be disheartened, the pocket fun does not end here. In fact the
most important usage of pockets comes when you use it as an ordinary jean pocket;
that is to put in temporary things.
Our relationships with other evolve all the time. So there may be certain people
who have made a significant impact on your life and certain others whose company
you enjoy but does not have a strong bond with. In these situations you may be confused
as to whether a certain person should be included in your treasured scrapbook album
or not. Pockets come in handy to hold all those temporary people around in the form
of photos and other memorabilia. In other situations, you may not know where to
add in the photograph of a certain person, so once again, you could still include
photographs of this person inside a pocket until you figure out which layout he/she
fits in.
Using Layout Pockets for Protection of Your Precious Embellishments
Certain things we come across in life are too precious to display and some other
little gadgets are too fragile to keep lying around. So this is another instance
where pockets will come in handy. If you want to use a pocket for protection, make
sure to add in a thin line of sponge or polyfil to give your pocket a cushion effect
so that your precious object will be safe guarded.
Yet again, the look and feel and the properties of the pocket is a personal decision
you will have to make depending on the purpose for which you use the pocket. A scrapbook
pocket should always make the viewer curious to reach out for it and dig deep. So
be creative in every possible way and don’t forget to add in some extra glitter
to make your pocket look very special!
