To make mistakes is ‘human’! You may have been as careful as possible with your
scrapbook layouts, but we all experience certain times where either we tear off
a layout corner or spill ink.
Your scrapbook album is your ultimate creation so, even when you make little blunders,
you can still learn to have fun from the situation while fixing the mistakes in
a creative way. So let’s explore how to add in this ‘mistakenly-beautiful-creativity-touch’
to your treasured scrapbook album.
I’ve torn my scrapbook layout, what can I do now?
If the tear happens in the border area of the scrapbook layout, you could simply
go on tearing the rest of the border area to give it a ‘worn out’ look. If not,
you could come up with a thick border outline using things like blinder glue mixed
with sand. (Colored sand is even better) You could also cover up the tear by placing
a ribbon border over the area or simply by pasting a sticker.
If the tear or piercing is in the middle of the scrapbook layout, you could simply
try to tear the rest of the paper to match this tear and color it up with water
colors. Once the layout dries out, you can use it on top of the next scrapbook layout
to form a funky looking over-cover.
Opppss!! I did it again. There’s too much glue. Now what?
No matter how much care you take, sometimes you will find extra glue running all
over the place. Be wise! First determine the amount of extra glue on the scrapbook
layout. If you think there’s too much extra glue, simply paste other things like
sequins, sea shells, sand, marbles or stickers to conceal the glue. However, you
may have to apply the same style to the whole layout or to part of it (for example,
a diagonal half) to maintain the same theme throughout the page.
If the amount of glue is less, try to take it off using a q-tip or an adhesive eraser
by rubbing it off. But make sure that doing so, will not leave your scrapbook layout
with ugly marks.
Help!!!! I cut a photo and the edges turned out all crooked!

Yes, we do that all the time although it’s unbelievable how we humans cannot even
cut a in a straight line using a scissors. Short falls apart, if you find the cutting
too horrible to bear, use a zigzag scissor to cut around the edges. Not only will
the zigzags conceal your mistake, it will give your photo a super cool look as well.
Geez! I wish I was better at spelling
We all make spelling mistakes and it is almost a social norm. So don’t be alarmed.
Just add some humor to what went wrong. Without tearing off the scrapbook layout
in which you made the mistake, you could simply add a tag with funny remarks. The
bottom line is, whatever happens, keep the spirit alive!
I hate you smudge!
Smudges are a main culprit and none of us enjoy having to put up with them. So suppose
you have this great layout created but half way through a smudge had to ruin it
all for you. Keep your cool and continue the trend. That’s right, keep on smudging
using the same medium to give your scrapbook layout an exotic look. Once the layout
is ready, you could either add a blank paper on top where you could write anything
you wish to or simply leave it blank.
