actions to remember in details that we forget most of those little things which
changed our life in to many directions. We all have a family but many can hardly
tell anything about their family line’s ancestors or anything about their origin
from generation to generation. “Life is short” they say, but surely there are many
incidents which take place in this short life.
Scrapbooking is an excellent way of treasuring your moments. It is an unusual, unique
way of preserving your memories which can be shared with many upcoming generations.
I’m sure you can find a photo album of your great grandparents and see how different
they look from the modern society. You can also evaluate and compare changes in
life styles and forms of having fun. The latter is only possible with the help of
your grandparents who took extra care to preserve their photo albums. But in our
modern days, we can preserve our memories in a much unique, attractive, striking
style through scrapbooking! All you need to do is “think outside the box!” in order
to end up with a fabulous scrapbook album which is done all by yourself through
your own efforts and creativity. It will surely add value to your memories as well.
Dried Flowers as Embellishments
Embellishing your scrapbook is one of the most delightful activities to engage in.
You can use many methods and craft items to embellish your scrapbook layouts in
a unique way. However, using dried flowers is one of the most elegant methods of
embellishing your scrapbook for it will add a homey look to your pages. It adds
a lot of attraction to your scrapbook layouts while giving it a touch of nature
as well.
Dried flowers can be attached as whole, in bunches with many other flowers, or punched
into many shapes. At the same time, you can add dried flowers to your scrapbook
layout as petals or leaves as well. Embellishing the cover page of your scrapbook
album using dried flowers will give your scrapbook a special effect. It will add
a graceful theme to the scrapbook while bringing its uniqueness to a new level.
You can add dried flowers in between images or in borders to embellish your scrapbook
with a theme as well. If you can spare sometime and be patient throughout the process,
you could even come up with a whole “dried flower” themed scrapbook album where
each scrapbook layout would have a dried flower border.
There are many ways of drying flowers; basic method of drying flowers is sandwiching
the fresh flowers in between blotting papers and keeping it inside a book. But thanks
to our advanced technology there are many other ways to perform this task as well.
You can also, use silica sand to dry flowers. All you have to do is just keep the
flowers in a tub of silica sand for some days to have some dry flowers in your possession
in no time!
Attaching Dried Flowers to Your Scrapbook Layout
You can also attach the flowers very easily! When attaching the dry flowers, place
a thin line of glue along the stem and create your pattern. You can also apply glue
directly on the petals to attach them on your scrapbook layout. Also you can use
embroidery cotton to attach the flowers in suitable places while letting your creativity
and imagination do the rest of the job.
However, dry flowers are not lignin and acid free. If proper precautions are not
taken or if, the dried plants are not placed in suitable places, it’s likely that
your scrapbook layouts will start smudging or forming fungus. But don’t be disheartened
for adding dried flowers to embellish your scrapbook will give your scrapbook album
a fabulous emergence! So now is the time for you to take a walk in your lovely garden
and find the flowers you love the most and prettiest leaves around to embellish
your memory blog - your scrapbook!
